So what do you all listen to while you're playing PSO?

Personally, I got tired of the in-game soundtrack way back in v1. I still like some songs, particularly Dark Falz music and most ep2 stuff... but overall I prefer to listen to other stuff while playing. I turn the music off in the options menu, leave the sound effects, and crank WinAmp. =D

Just for fun, my current playlist includes Yes, Jordan Rudess, and Liquid Tension Experiment.

I also enjoy other music, the ingame music tends to get old

I do listen to epII sometimes

OH but its a must whenever I fight De Rol Le (or Li) I always turn up the game music just cause thats the best song in the game.
Reminds me of the demo preview movie on the dc magazine demo disc (ahh memories 8) )

OH another ritual, whenever i fight olga flow I listen to Queens of the Stoneage - Flow

When in lobbies or before a C-Mode game starts I usually throw in a CD or put on a music channel. In a regular game I usually listen to the in game music or a CD/etc. But during a Challenge stage I absolutely have to hear the game. It is a bit too distracting not hearing my attacks strike, the monsters death knell, and the reassuring chime of resta. beigelaugh.gif

90% of the time I listen to the in-game music. To this day, I still enjoy the chimes of the forest. My favorite stages for music would definately have to be the Ruins, VR SpaceShip, and Seabed (who doesn't like the Seabed music? beigebigrazz.gif). I dig most of the boss music as well. Vol Opt, Gol Dragon, Gal Gryphon, and Dark Falz's area before the battle are the ones I enjoy most, while Olga Flow's music (especially when he rises for the second fight) is my favorite boss music. Every now and then (the other 10% of the time) I'll put the BGM down and listen to a random Winamp playlist. However, since my computer is to the left and a bit behind where I play PSO, the effect is kinda strange.

for the most part i tend to listen to the in-game tunes myself, while some are quite enjoyable (my favorites are spaceship and seabed/olga) the other ones really dont effect me negatively... even though i've heard the ep1 tracks countless times, maybe i just dont pay them enough attention? or maybe my hucast chopping through wave after wave of foes is too loud buttrock.gif

90% of the time I have the in-game music going. If not, I'll usually have some Slayer or Metallica or some J-pop/J-rock.

There's no way I could play the game without the sound effects... so generally it's BGM off, SFX on, There are lots of times during the course of a game where I would like have the in-game music playing. Falz's final form is a good example. The rest (most) of the time, I would STRONGLY prefer to have some other music playing. Since I have to log out in order to reset my options menu, 99% of the time no in-game music wins out.

I mostly just listen to the Ingame music, or sometimes I turn my Winamp on and listen to .hack ost's :D (this one song would go so well with the Vol Opt boss music)

I don't listen to any of the sounds at all. PSO's music is cool...but it started to drive me berserk after I got to level 100 on the DC, so since then I usually just turn the volume down on the TV and crank up the winamp/CD/Radio. I have a set playlist of tunes that fit with PSO pretty well (about 170 tracks) but it needs some serious updating, so lately I've just been listening to the radio. If you see a team name thats the name of a band, its probably cuz that's what was on the radio when I made the team beigebiggrin.gif

I like the Vol Opt battle music, the Olga and Dark Falz tunes, and the VR Spaceship music, though.

Funny side note...since I play with the sound off, sometimes I make the sound effects myself beigelaugh.gif "clang clang bling oof wooh clang"

Hrm, I honestly can't play a game if there's no bgm.(for the most part) since it helps me focus (I'm a huge music fan beigebiggrin.gif as much as you hear that from others.. its a crucial part for me) Not that I love it either, theres gotta be more for it. + PSO sndtrk overall seems ambient enough not to be a dist raction but just there.

Winamp, Winamp, and Winamp.

I honestly can't stand the PSO music anymore, I sorta cracked when they had the Christmas theme run all the way mid January ('cmon, the music sounded like it came outta a clowns funeral home)

So I just said, "screw this", and the music's been off since then, and only thing on was Radio or Winamp.

I got a pretty stupid looking playlist, but it sure beats listening to the same soundtrack for 2 years straight. o_O
