Post your Gamertags so I can send you an invite to the Clan if you want in. I already sent one to Crush, I just need to know the rest of your names now. I'll send invites as soon as I check back here.

Bryn and I share a gamertag so ours is DiveBryn beigelaugh.gif

Here is a link to the ApocalypseTribe stats page

You may need to link your Xbox Live Gamertag with your account at bungie.net to see your own stats on their site. Info here.

Halo 2 kicks ass btw sniperer.gif
StonedGrover
Mine is StonedGrover. and I want in. thanks.
Dive
I tried to add StonedGrover as a friend and also tried to send a Clan invite, both times it said that Gamertag could not be found.
Riel
My gamertag is Ricker...my friend list is full though(100 names heh,i have to erase some people i never see on Live anymore, problem is some i'm not sure who it was....)
Riel
No one else?........i had PC problems today, but now it seems to work fine, got a new rig so i might not be on this evening.
Crushinator
I'm trying to plow thru the single player game before I get swept up in multiplayer. Hopefully I'll have it finished by tonight/tomorrow.
StonedGrover
oops. it is Stoned Grover

but i think we have it covered now
Crushinator
I got stuck on a shitty part on the single player, so I jumped online and kicked some ass for the AT flag. Goddamn this game is fucking amazing online.

Check it out, 5/8 games I took first place so far! buttrock.gif

I still need to get to know the maps better, though. I basically am just wandering around getting a feel for the places. I gotta get more accustomed to the strategy of when to use what combos of weapons too, now that there is so much more variety compared to Halo 1.

EDIT: We gotta get more AT people online so we can tackle other clans in team games. People are already scrambling up the ranks on the Bungie leaderboards.

Nice job Crush, after I pay off my DS, which I'm getting the following Friday it comes out, I'll help my friend out with paying for xbox live. So I'll try to be on around the first week of December.
tanshin
I signed up and captured the name Tanshin. Thought it might be taken, since is it SUCH a cool name, but nope. Add me! buttrock.gif
Dive
Clan invite sent Tan.

Let's all try and team up tonight, I'll be on later.
tanshin
And accepted. I won't be on tonight (saturday night) because I have to drive all the way to san louis obispo to watch my brother's last football game. Even though I don't like football. I'll be on sunday though.
Wiryu

Hmm, I'm assuming your using cable? If you are do you have a cable spliter? If you do that might be messing with connection signal making it impossible to get on.
Also make sure that your Routers connection are set to auto even though they should already be set to auto.
Crushinator
I just gotta say... i love this game so much! cry2.gif BUCKETS OF TEARS! (of joy of course.)

I wish everyone in AT was on it.
Kazicht
Okay, I couldnt resist and signed on Xbox Live afterall.

Gamer Tag: KalmElusion

Thing is... I linked my tag to the Bungie.net thing for the stats and stuff, but I can't seem to locate my stats when I use the search, logged in or out. But I can see them when I hit "My Stats"... so I'm unsure if I did it right =/
Crushinator
The stats don't update immediately, and it seems like they glitch out a bit in comparison to your actual XBL stats, but I think that's just due to the massive amount of players online.
Zorya
Ok kids, my and my hubby's Xbox gamertag is neifirst. Be sure to add us to your buddy lists!

I'm sure if you join up with him online and ask for me, he'll let me come out and play. :]
Crushinator
Awesome, Zor. I hope we see you guys online tonight! buttrock.gif

We almost have enough for some 4 on 4 scrimmages. Be a great way to get some strategy down. Just make some arranged games and go to town on all the maps until we all have a great idea of how to work together.
Crushinator
Yeah, I don't know how you are faring Dive, but in the games I've had with fellow ATers, we have great defensive abilities, but our offensive strategy needs some work.

I think we just need to get a better feel for the placement of all the "key" weapons on the maps (rocket, sniper, sword, shotgun) and also know all possible entry points into the enemy bases. Using diverse tactics like coming in thru the roof or flying in with banshees is a great way to throw an otherwise well prepared defene off kilter. And of course regrouping after the squad takes a deathblow is important too. I've seen too many matches start off well, and then fall apart after the first wave of deaths after everyone gets scattered.
Dive
You are right about getting the key weapons early. In my experience, the team which secures a Sword, Rocket Launcher, or a perfect sniping spot has taken the map almost everytime. We need to learn these spots and take the them quickly. Planning a great strategy also requires perfect team communication. Too many times I have been in a team where no one talks ever. You have players all over the map with no idea that one of them has the flag/bomb etc.

Taking the offense right away is also key. Take Assault for instance. Many times I have hopped on a Hog and got to the bomb and to the enemy base long before the other team realizes what is happening. If we employ a lightning strike offense, we can score some vital early points.

Distraction is another good tactic. Let's look at 1 Flag CTF in Burial Mounds. If we rush the back door with a Hog and maybe the Rocket Launcher, we have a good chance of sneaking in a player the front way. Of course there is the chance of losing the Hog and Launcher but in exchange we score vital early points.

Scoring early is also great for team morale.

Halo 2 XBL autoupdate today, good stuff:

QUOTE
WHAT IS THE AUTOUPDATE?

The Halo 2 Autoupdate is a small piece of software which will improve the functionality of Halo 2, most notably in the following areas:

Matchmaking: Some players have experienced irritating delays while waiting for a game to be found while in Quickmatch and Optimatch. This is caused by a combination of factors, including connection speed and other detailed nuances of matchmaking. We have isolated the cause and applied a solution to the autoupdate which should normalize that wait time.

480p Support: The autoupdate will improve support for 480p resolutions on a wide range of HDTV and EDTV displays, correcting a flaw that the software encountered with some sets causing part of the HUD to be obscured. This problem does not currently occur on all HDTV sets, so it is possible that your specific set is unaffected right now and it will therefore not be altered or changed by this autoupdate. If you are seeing the HUD clip or bleed off the screen in 480p widescreen and 4:3 modes) this should address that problem perfectly.

Foundation: As something of a treat for players, we’ve decided to make the unlockable multiplayer map, Foundation, available to everyone. Previously, to unlock Foundation, it was necessary to both complete the game and activate a “training event” on the final level. We reckon that was too tough for most, and wanted very much to share Foundation – inspired by our old shoot ‘em up Marathon – with Halo 2 players everywhere. Once you have the autoupdate, you’ll be able to play this rarely seen arena map with anyone you wish. And be sure to try a game of four-team CTF on this map. It's a hoot!

The Autoupdate should be available by the time you read this, and getting it is as simple as logging into your Xbox Live account. Xbox Live gamers are probably already familiar with the concept of an autoupdate and this one behaves exactly the same way.

Good thing they addressed that stupid ass bug that didn't let you get Foundation for beating the game. I wonder if it will show up in the ranked playlists, now that everyone has access to it?

Got this game out and running the other. My friend and I share a gamertag which is Zioslayer. I will be on in a little bit plus I may be on tonight and all night next Saturday.
unitself
Hello my friends!
I signed up last night. My gamertag is unitself.
I played two games last night..
1. Swords game - last place beigerolleyes.gif
2. All weapons - 5th place

So.. yeah, I'm not a great player. The first game had some "kid" yelling bitch the whole time. Swearing IS fun when mommy is not around! The second game I was in first for about half the game, then I kinda broke down.
Fun though!
I am using the free 2 month card that came with Halo2 so I don't have a mic yet. I am planing on getting one sometime in January. If anyone wants me on their team just remember that I can't talk to you. I can take orders though, just not give em or call you an ass if you kill me. beigelaugh.gif

Do I have to be on to get the invite or can you send it to me while I'm offline. If I have to be on I'll just get it Saturday night. Also how early are you guys getting on that night?
Crushinator
Awesome news, SCU! But damnit, go buy a mic! It's critical that not only you hear us, but that you can relay information to us. And these practice sessions are even better when everyone can contribute ideas and strategies.

Zio: I believe I sent you a clan invite the night you registered, even though you weren't on. Check your past messages from me, maybe you skipped it.

I probably did skip it. Oh well I'll check it again tonight, if I don't get it tonight I'll just get it Saturday night.

This might be an obvious question to ask, but...
You know that little logo that is on our shoulders (Master Chief's that is...) when we play multiplayer? It's also on the Bungie stats site. How do we change that? Mine is a boring number 6. I've seen some very cool ones and a big number 6 isn't one of them. beigesmile.gif

Also. I know that Bungie put in place this Matching System so that we don't get paired with other gamers who are way out of our league, but what is the number based on? I have played 4 games online so far and in every match there have been a few players who simply dominate. Completely dominate. Yeah, I suck, but I didn't think I was this bad. Anyone have any insight? Not in my suckage... but in the way players are matched.

The rankings are based on how many of a certain type games you have played online, and how many wins you have gotten in a row. So many wins in a row will rank you up, likewise so many losses will rank you down. This is calculated across all gametypes individually, a person may be Level 10 in Team Slayer, but still Level 1 in another, let's say Head to Head. When you play someone who is Level 1, don't assume that they are a rookie, it is quite possible that they are Level 70 in another gametype.

The Ranks do not take into account LAN games or Arranged matches.

You should be able to change your emblem in Edit Profile.

Keep in mind you need to probably play a good 20-30 games before your rank will actually start to reflect your skill level. Just because you had bad luck in a few matches, don't think that that is a representation of all Halo 2 online players.
HC82
Invite me up scotty. I suck pretty bad, but I'll get better.

HC82 is my tag, durrr....
Crushinator
Sorry I wasn't on H2 last night guys, got kinda caught up on FFXI. beigelaugh.gif But i'll be on early evening friday night till... whenever!
Zio

Ikari
Ikari420 is my gamer tag, though I moved on to Mech Assault II (seriously awesome game, I highly recommend it). Though I do play Halo 2 every once in awhile (love Halo). So add me to ya friends list if ya'll want.
