No mention of monthly fees so it's not certain if they will charge or not but this is big for Microsoft to get Square/Enix on XBox.

I don't know what to say haha.
I mean they should release a new one instead of XI. =\

I'd rather chug battery acid....

I wonder if folks on the PS2 and PC version will be able to play with those on this one.

great there goes whats left of dignity that ffxi had, leet speak and curses ahoy
Dorian
Holy crap! After all this time SCU can finally play FFXI, this is ganna be awesome!

To bad no one really plays anymore. Sorry bro.

Well, what Riel left out was that it's coming to the new Xbox 360 and not the original Xbox.

If it was coming to the original Xbox, I would pick it up... especially, as Dorian so eloquently pointed out, since no one plays anymore.

"hay guys! i have a terriffic idea!

let's release a game that is bound by PS2 specs on the Xbox 360!"

is it possible for innovation to go in the negative?

You're forgetting the rap music in the background and 13-year-olds screaming "I'm jacking off to a mithra!" I won't go into further detail on that one.

Wait, I thought they just stopped PS2 support, and now they're going to bring another console up? Or am I mistaken?

D'oh! knew I forgot something.

Far as I know they won't drop support for the PS2, but the X-Box 360 version may include a way better resolution, and better graphics control akin to a top of the line pc playing FFXI, then the what was limited by PS2
