I have no problems dishing out 600 bucks on a PS3 to play this game.

Wow, that was certainly incredible. But, what's with the metal gears sounding like cows? Looks amazing, but I don't own a PS3, so it'll have to wait a while.

Its an engineering feature to lure the enemies into a false state of mind. Apparently the sound has a psychological effect of relaxing the enemy. Or so this was what Hideo Kojima stated in an interview I read in some magazine last year. I was a bit disappointed in they didn't show any game play vids or real new footage but the ending Raiden sequence was really dope. I always wondered why people didn't seem to like him.

I think the majority of the backlash on Raiden was because people wanted to play as Snake for the whole of MGS2. At the outset, he appears to be the exact opposite of Snake, a green nancy boy, unsure of himself, pussy whipped by his girlfriend. But of course as you learn more about his past over the course of the game he becomes much cooler and interesting, but I guess a lot of people already decided they hated him before that point.

I just know Kojima is pulling a total "fuck you" to the Raiden haters by making him a total badass that you WISH you could play, but he'll never give you the chance. (Until MGS4 Integral/Substance/Subsistance/whatever beigelaugh.gif )

This wouldn't surprise me, given the amount of painstaking research that has gone into each game. At first I was like "wtf" when I first heard those bovine sounds, but now it makes sense.
