The crowd escalated into full panic and they charged from the melee, right through Aridia’s chosen spot.  She muttered a silent curse as the crowd flooded over her carefully laid cards, scattering and throwing them into the air.  She followed the cards with her eyes as they fluttered through the air and begin to land one by one.  She held her breath as the cards came to rest in a sinister pattern.

Severus quickly drew his Hand Cannon and threw himself to the ground, narrowly avoiding a blast from the Stubber.  He rolled to one knee and fired but his shot ran wide and echoed in the darkness.  The Cultist aimed again but before he could squeeze the trigger, his left leg exploded at the thigh, sending a shower of blood through the air as he fell.  Severus turned to see Wrax in the doorway of the Grox Breath, his rifle still smoking.  Within moments, the Cultist was silenced.

Aridia gazed at the cards, Chaos, Water, and Death had laid themselves out in order.  She grimly contemplated the pattern as she felt a breath on her neck and a cold hand brush her shoulder.  She felt an icy chill as the street around her faded into immaterium.  Smoking black claws gripped her shoulders and she had the sensation of falling backwards at an explosive rate.  She muttered a silent prayer to Him on Earth.
